Haven 16 (2-20) 38 Widnes (U21s Featherstone Rovers...70-18 Whitehaven)
It is to be hoped Haven
got enough of a payoff when Steve Mac poached Mr Nanyn and the
others, as Widnes kept hold of this match by the scruff of the
neck throughout.
Haven had spells when
they had the fire to fight back but they let slip opportunities.
John Duffy had a great game giving the second try, but soon after
he sadly had a mix up and left the door open for Widnes to start
scoring again in the second spell.
Leroy Joe was as ever
creative and inspirational, but too late for a strong enough
come back despite the Kells End roar.
That man Nanyn was
all over the shop for Widnes as was McDermott and O'Connor. The
Big Fella, Neil Baines won the crowd's backing for his battering
ram drives and neat offloads.
