Mark has now set his
sights on overcoming formidable competition for places in the
NL1 squad and earning a first-team spot this season.
Im young

happy with that, Deans said.
When I got the
opportunity to come to Whitehaven I couldnt turn it down.

in McCormacks squad after impressing in his only pre-season
game against a combined London/Leeds outfit.
Before that match,
Steve wasnt sure about me but after it he was, added

was a lot faster than I was used to, but it was a step forward.
My fitness is
definitely better than it was. When I first came down to Whitehaven,
I was struggling to keep up but competing with the rest of the
lads brings you on to their level.

off a huge coup by signing Super League prop Neil Baynes from
Salford.
