In blustery May winds Haven walked all over the visiting Yorkshiremen. And a rock solid defence was one of the key factors in this well earned Div 1 win. Fats was quite rightly Man of the Match as his speed seems to move up a gear each game this season.
Wallace was the first on the scorecard finding a way through on the right corner. Holt was unable to get a conversion. Hull then got their consolation penalty, which was there only reward as they kept trying to breach the impregnable Haven defensive wall in both halves of this exciting match.
Leroy Joe, who is always in the thick of the action got a deserved try which Holt concerted Wallace showed a clean pair of heels to burst through for his second , converted by Holt just before the interval.
Carl Sice came on for the second half and proved an enthusiastic and creative force as hooker. Wallace was among many players on both sides to curse the slippery conditions as he knocked on just yards from an easy chance to gain a hat trick.
But he made up for this minutes later by some superb try line tackling at the Kells End to ensure Hull Players were rolled away from scoring.Hull never gave up and talents such as Seebold were always making forays that were thrown back by the Haven wall.
Holt got an extra penalty and then Steve Woods got a bold try out on the left wing. Jacko, who had a fearless game earned his own try to hammer the final nail in the Rovers coffin.
Attendance a healthy 1,315.
